Strength In Every Generation
This week has given us an extraordinary reminder of the strength, resilience and promise within our community.
700 Young Adults Filled the Room
On Monday night, more than 700 young Jewish adults gathered for Young UIA’s young leadership event to hear from Omer Shem Tov, survivor and former hostage held in Gaza for 505 days.
The auditorium was overflowing — a powerful, moving sight that highlighted not only our shared heartbreak, but also the unwavering commitment of the next generation to show up, listen, learn and lead.
Moments like this affirm how essential it is that we continue investing in our youth and young adult engagement. Their passion and presence give us hope — and remind us that the future of our community is in inspired and capable hands.
Celebrating Youth Leadership: Mazal Tov to Zoe Fried
We are proud to present Zoe Fried with the Sam Tatarka OAM Youth Leadership Award at our Annual Assembly on the 27 November.
Zoe has stepped up time and again with thoughtfulness, courage and quiet determination. Whether mobilising young adults, supporting community initiatives or contributing to meaningful conversations, her leadership has had a genuine impact.
We hope Zoe’s example inspires even more young people to take on leadership roles and help shape our collective future.
Project A: A Community Mazal Tov
A heartfelt Mazal Tov to the Project A Leadership Team — Moran Dvir, Lillian Kline, Ginette Searle and Liora Miller — recognised for their extraordinary contribution to our community.
Their work strengthening relationships, building alliances and elevating Jewish voices has been indispensable, especially over the past two years.
Looking Ahead With Hope
As we move towards Chanukah and the close of the year, we are reminded again of the light our community continues to generate — through leadership, through compassion, and through showing up for one another.
Wishing you and your families a warm, peaceful and uplifting Shabbat Shalom.
