Hashomer Hatzair Melbourne (Hashy) is a socialist-Zionist Jewish youth movement empowering young people through leadership, community and progressive values.
What They Do
Hashy engages Jewish youth across Melbourne through weekly programs, camps and leadership development grounded in socialist-Zionist ideals, social justice and collective responsibility. Through peer-led education and experiential learning, chanichim (participants) explore Jewish identity, equality, activism and connection to Israel, while developing strong leadership skills and lifelong friendships. The movement creates an inclusive, values-driven space where young people are encouraged to think critically, lead confidently and contribute meaningfully to their community.
