
With the Knesset set to be dissolved and new elections set for October, President of Zionism Victoria Yossi Goldfarb said, “The coalition government showed what could be achieved when the good of the country was placed above factional interests. Those who helped form it made history, not least for the inclusion of an Islamist party.
“Now though, with Israel headed for its fifth election in three years, we wish Yair Lapid every success as he takes the reins as interim Prime Minister and we hope that the instability that plagued the country prior to the establishment of the coalition can be avoided in the months and years ahead.”
