Zionism Victoria’s President, Sharene Hambur, said: “We are delighted to meet Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Mrs Sara Netanyahu who have arrived in Australia to strengthen political, security, economic and cultural ties between Israel and Australia.”

Australian Prime Minister Hon Malcolm Turnbull welcomed Prime Minister Netanyahu by saying: “This is the first by an Israeli Prime Minister to Australia – and it demonstrates the strength of our relationship and its importance to both countries. The friendship between Israel and Australia dates back to the establishment of Israel in 1948.
