Israel Uncovered, a dynamic seminar run by Zionism Victoria at Beth Weizmann Community Centre was an engaging learning experience for many.
Facilitated by Erez Feinberg, Hebrew Language & Israeli Culture Chair of Zionism Victoria and Head of Informal Education at Mt Scopus Memorial College, the course delved into Israel’s rich history, archaeology, geography and culture.
Thanks to Erez’s enthusiasm, students of all ages were excited to learn in what ways Israeli geography has had an incredible impact on the historical, cultural and political development of the country.
Erez Feinberg said, “It was a privilege for me to take my wonderful students on the journey of unfolding the layers of understanding Israel and people living there today.”
Participants agreed that more educational events similar to Israel Uncovered course would help the community to connect with Israel, while Erez Feinberg’s oratory talents make him fit to be on TV.
Jane Rapke, Executive Director of Zionism Victoria, said, “We were pleased to see the community come together on cold winter nights in Melbourne to broaden their educational horizons and get a new perspective on Israel.”
Currently, in preparation for Rosh Hashana, Zionism Victoria is planning a very special event with Erez Feinberg called Siyur Selichot.
During the month of Elul, thousands of Jewish people, religious and secular, tour the streets of Jerusalem to reconnect to Jewish heritage. On 9 October, Erez Feinberg will recreate this incredible journey inwards at Caulfield Park, while focusing on the three tenants of forgiveness: charity, prayer and repentance.
