Press Release – 14 July 2009

Calling all Melbourne Jewish talent – auditions for the 2101 Yom Ha’atzmaut Concert are just around the corner!

Last year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut “Israeliana” Community Concert saw the largest ever cast assembled to celebrate Israel’s 61st birthday and next year’s Concert on Monday April 19, 2010, once again at the Arts Centre’s Hamer Hall, promises to be as impressive an event.

Preparations have already begun for the Concert with first auditions to take place next month, on Sunday August 9.

For these first auditions, singers are called to audition for solo and ensemble parts in what will be a celebration of Israel with an authentic, festive atmosphere.

ZCV Executive Director and Concert producer Ginette Searle spoke of her excitement at starting the process for the community’s largest ticketed event just 3 months after the previous Concert. “It’s fantastic to get our creative juices flowing for Yom Ha’atzmaut so soon after the last one. The community was buzzing with positive feedback after the “Israeliana” concert so to build on that enthusiasm for 2010 is ideal”.

The Zionist Council will release audition details for musicians and dancers at a later date.

The first round of auditions for the 2010 Yom Ha’atzmaut Community Concert celebrating Israel’s 62nd Independence Day will be held on Sunday, 9 August, 2009 from 10 am.
To register to audition call Cathy at the ZCV on 9272 5544.
