Organisational Professionals Work Together on Israel Advocacy

Melbourne’s Zionist and Jewish roof bodies, together with major public affairs organisations have convened a working group of professionals to liaise and collaborate on issues of Israel advocacy and their local implications.

The group encompasses the State Zionist Council of Victoria (SZCV), Zionist Federation of Australia (ZFA) including local Shlichim, Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ), Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV), Community Security Group (CSG), Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) and B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC).

The working group has been established as just one of the outcomes of a recent meeting of communal leaders that reviewed the community’s and organisations’ responses to Israel’s recent war with Hizbollah.

Immediate and long-term strategising has begun by mapping key constituents, particularly identifying where there may be gaps and developing proposals to improve effectiveness in communicating messages to the media and to Jewish and broader communities.
